Terra Travel was founded in 1972 by its present chairman Terry Murphy.  Originally dealing with school and group travel, the company has grown to become one of the best know brands on the Northern Ireland travel scene with offices in Lurgan, Portadown and Rushmere Shopping Centre.

Terence Murphy

Director

Terence has been in travel for 34 years now, having worked in London and Australia in his early days.  He has travelled extensively in Europe, Asia, Australia and USA.  He lists his favourite places visited as India.  He is an expert in Asia, Australia and India of course, but has been to America more than 20 times and enjoys creating tailor-made holidays there.

Damian Murphy

Managing Director

Damian has been with Terra Travel for over 30 years now and is still passionate about the industry.  He co-founded the Association of Northern Ireland Travel Agents (ANITA) in 2020 and still plays an active role within the organisation. He has travelled extensively but still lists Spain as his favourite destination although in recent years has become a big cruise fan

Marie Murphy

Director

Marie has worked in Terra Travel all her life, which proves she has a passion for travel. She has recently developed a new love for cruising. “Cruising is a great holiday option, you get to see so many destinations, there is a great choice of restaurants on board and many entertainment options”. Marie always strives to find her customers the best options to suit their needs, which is why she has so many repeat clients, nothing is too much trouble for her.

Cara Morgan

Senior Travel Consultant

Cara has worked in Terra Travel since 2017 after graduating with a degree in Travel & Tourism with Spanish and spending 8 months working abroad in Lanzarote. She has travelled to many European destinations and places further afield like New York, Orlando and the Canadian Rockies. She loves the challenge of creating itineraries that people will enjoy. Cara says “I love working in the travel industry. I have so many destinations still on my bucket list and I hope by continuing to travel I can inspire others in creating their own lasting memories”.

Janine Barr

Company Retail Manager

Janine embarked on her journey with Terra Travel in 1999, starting as a trainee travel consultant. During her early years at Terra Travel, she worked across three branches (Lurgan, Rushmere, and Portadown) before settling in Rushmere in 2005 as Assistant Manager. Janine’s dedication is evident as she is usually the first to arrive in the mornings and the last to leave in the evenings.
Traveling has always been Janine’s passion, and she feels fortunate to have explored numerous destinations worldwide, both on personal holidays and work trips. Working in a family business has been a rewarding experience for her. Recognizing her commitment, Janine was promoted to Company Retail Manager in November 2022, overseeing staff and sales. Her expertise lies in destinations like Dubai, USA, Mexico, cruises, and many European locations.
Janine’s enthusiasm for travel shines through as she enjoys engaging with customers while planning their trips abroad. Her colleagues can attest that keeping her from talking about travel is no easy task.

Sharon Garland

Office Manager

Sharon has been with Terra Travel from 1991, after achieving her BTEC in Travel & Tourism.
She has worked her way up from a Trainee to now The Office Manager.
She has a vast knowledge of travel during this time, with visits to West & The East Coast of America, Bermuda, Mauritius, Dubai as well as many European City & Beach Destinations.
Her main love is Cruising. Sharon says ‘I love to cruise, its like a floating luxurious hotel, waking up each morning to a different town/city. The food, entertainment, wellness & service all under one roof, you could not get it anywhere else’.

Maria Scullion

General Manager

Maria has been working with Terra Travel from 1983 and started as an account’s administrator. Back then there were two branches, the head office in Lurgan and a second in Rushmere. “Family values are extremely important to me and as Terra Travel is a family-owned business, I couldn’t think of working anywhere else. Terra Travel could not run without our superb Accounts Department of which I am proud to be their manager.

Barbara Freeburn

Assistant Manager

Barbara has over 20 years’ experience in the travel industry and came to Terra Travel with a wealth of experience in Long Haul Travel. She says, “The variety, complexity and daily challenges keep my job exciting and I learn something new daily. I am passionate about putting together complicated itineraries for people who want to create memories. I have lots of experience of tailor making the Far East, Canada, USA and Australia along with worldwide cruises.”

Louise Hoy

Accountant

Louise has been a part of Terra Travel since 1991, overseeing the daily operations of the accounts, a vital role for Terra Travel’s success. With more than 33 years of experience in accounts management, she is an invaluable asset to the team. She has a great passion for travel and enjoys exploring various destinations with her family.

Tracy Bell

Senior Travel Consultant

Tracy has been in travel for over 17 years now, working for several companies before joining Terra Travel.  “I have been in travel since I left school and love my job with Terra Travel.”  Tracy has travelled to Cyprus (her favourite holiday spot), Turkey, Tenerife, Salou, Gran Canaria and Croatia, as well as Disneyland Paris.  Tracy can create your perfect holiday no matter where you want to go.

Sheila Rafferty

Senior Travel Consultant

Sheila is a based in our Rushmere branch and joined the company back in 1990 . Previous to that she was the Assistant manager in the Lurgan branch for over 10 years. With over 30 years in Terra Travel she has considerable knowledge in planning all types of holidays. Her advice and expertise comes from her love of travel and the many familiarisation trips throughout her career . US , Caribbean , Skiing and Cruising to name a few. Her ideal holiday is simply somewhere new and her advice is to always plan ahead when booking.

Desy Foy

Desy has been in travel since 2002 having worked for some large companies before joining Terra Travel in 2010. He has travelled to many places such as Mexico, Middle East, Dominican Republic, Spain, Portugal, Canaries, Greece and Bulgaria. “I would have to say my favourite spots so far are Mexico, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Madrid.”
I have been lucky to have visited some amazing places over the years and will continue to visit more as the years go on. I love to travel in general and my job at Terra Travel.

Ria Grimley

Ria Completed a 2 Year course in Travel & Tourism, before starting to work on Holland America Cruise line, Where Ria was lucky enough to Visit 52 countries over her time with the company. Out of All the places Ria visited she would say Flám in Norway was her favourite during the Norwegian Fords Itinerary. Ria has been working for Terra Travel for a couple of years and is enjoying learning more everyday about new destinations and plans to travel more in the future.

Ciarrai McCracken

Ciarraí graduated with a degree in International Travel & Tourism management in 2022 and started working for terra travel shortly after. She has always loved travel and has a few destinations on her bucket list with USA being top of the list.

Muriel Gilliland (Mo)

Katherine McGarry

Travel Consultant

Katherine has worked for Terra Travel since 2022. Her interest in the travel industry began when she spent time in Australia on a working-holiday visa where she helped other backpackers plan their dream trip. During this time, she travelled solo around the Australian East Coast and Bali.
Fraser Island was her favourite part!
She has cruised around the Norwegian Fjords, skied in Bulgaria and enjoyed city breaks such as Amsterdam and Venice. Katherine says “There are plenty of destinations still on my bucket list, I can’t wait help others tick off their own bucket list and plan their perfect holiday.”

Jamie Livingston

Trainee Travel Consultant

Jamie joined Terra Travel in 2024 where he is working part time. After achieving a distinction in his Travel & Tourism studies, Jamie is currently studying a Degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management, where he had the opportunity to travel to the Caribbean Island of Aruba to complete a 3-week work placement as part of the course. His travel portfolio includes Bulgaria, Italy’s Amalfi Coast, and the US. His favourite and most memorable trip was to Las Vegas where he said “You can’t say you have seen it all unless you’ve been to Vegas. It is a destination like no other and should be on every traveller’s bucket list”. New York, Iceland and Australia are just a few of the places he wants to travel to in the future.
